Oh, did I hit a 'Treasure Trove' of wonderful today~!

Does your area have a local 'Facebook' yardsale page?
If you don't know, look and see...

I follow a few facebook yardsale pages in our state, that's where I got the "Purple Passion Set"...

An older lady had an 'enamelware milk pitcher' listed about a week ago and I fell in love with it, but she never responded. Then, she posted a week later that she didn't really know how to use the internet, facebook, or tech. things and could I please call her and she sent me a phone number. I was excited~!

In our phone conversation she told me she's moving and has a great collection of antique and vintage items and invited me over for a private viewing ~ yes, I squealed...

And, I brought home some treasure~!

My original intent was the enamelware pitcher, but I couldn't resist the rest. And, her prices were 'rock bottom,' 'yardsale,' amounts. I had a hard time restraining myself from everything she had...

She sold me the enamelware pitcher and green rimmed enamelware bowl for $10...

I didn't necessarily want a 'chamber pot,' but she only wanted $5 for it and I'll find a place for it somewhere...

There was an antique, solid brass, 'Union Pacific Railroad' spittoon/ I'll put it on the fireplace mantel at the side of the wood stove. It was  $5...

The 2 pictures were $10 each - the one below will DEFINITELY go in the "Purple" room, it's my favorite of the 2 in the above pic...

Strangely, I have the chandelier in my office at my house that matches this vintage lamp. It will probably go in the dining room, once that addition is complete...
This lamp is my favorite of the 2. It was $15...
(=

Who could resist this 'large' hurricane lamp?

It will go in the large bedroom upstairs - not the "Purple" room, but the other one...It was $25. It has beautiful brass carving...

She gave me a huge towel full of real crystals from an old chandelier, that I can hang however I want on the lamps... She sold all of them to me for $3... And, they're HEAVY ~ I'm scared to touch them~!
I didn't hang them all yet, but I hung a few, just to give you the idea of their beauty...

And, this old, crusty washboard for $2...

I love it - it fits right in~!

She has a ton of other things she's going through and a few of them are already reserved for me, so stay tuned for future "Treasure" pics...

It cost me $75 from the "Taco Jar" savings -
(The Taco Jar = a running joke between me and my best friend - I hide my small $ in an old, taco seasoning jar...)
And, it was worth every penny~!

My inspiration for this old house stems from a weekend stay at a bed and breakfast a couple years ago in Boyertown, PA. I fell in Love with the old place; Twin Turrets Inn

We stayed in Room #4, but a good friend of mine stayed in Room # 1 and if I could have figured out a way to 'steal' Room #1's wardrobe/closet. I would have~ it is GORGEOUS. I could have 'petted' it all day!

I actually think our house is turning out just as beautiful, going antique/vintage with the decor...

It's time to start replenishing the "Taco Jar" funds for future treasure hunting~!

I snuck up the ladder, but the sun was starting to set and the "Man-Child" has the power off upstairs until he can do a repair, so the pics are awful... Plus, there's a lot of boxes and stuff in this room I was trying to avoid getting in the pic. Plus, there's an old dark red, vintage chair peeking into the pic...
Sorry for the pics, they're awful, but so is the light upstairs in this room right now...

"Betty" ~ the vintage dress form will go through a transformation soon and get a spray on fabric do-over that will make her match the Purple Room. Perhaps, I'll just use burlap? I haven't decided yet... I have lots of stuff to match the room, I just don't have it ready yet.

Guess what???
I'm going to leave the walls the turquoise green~!

I think it looks pretty in there with the purple, but the ceiling has got to be hidden. Those 60's era, retro ceiling panels have got to go... They'll be replaced with bead board. There's a bead board closet in this room (hidden by boxes of stuff right now) that has a turqoise, white wash - the ceiling will look like the closet soon, so stay tuned~!

The 'Man-Child' informed me that the walls upstairs are 'horse hair' plaster - that's how old this upstairs is. And, I 'lucked out...' The carpet is old wool carpet. It's a pinkish/grey tint with purple detailing. What are the chances of that? It's in excellent shape and it's staying~!
See, this old pic looks awesome against the turquoise wall, plus it looks gorgeous with the purple furniture and I have all the vintage wall sconce sets to match it somewhere in my garage at my house!...

The mattress and box springs are just sitting on the floor right now with the quilt that came with the set over them. Once the bed is 'jacked up' Jen style, it will be tall, and much more appealing...

You should see that vintage chair peeking through on the bottom right corner. It's awesome. And, I have a turquoise one that matches it, in the other bedroom, covered in boxes right now. I intend to make some slip covers for them, for the other upstairs bedroom and put them in the "big room" I haven't even figured out yet... (=
I'll reveal those another day ~ they're really neat~!

See, "Betty" needs a makeover to match the room. She'll fit right in when I'm done with her!

***Pam, if one of your girls wants to sell me one of their bride's maids dresses, I'll dress up Betty with it ~ I'm sure they'll match!

Remember, the Purple Passion Set has the little gold, tufted vanity chair. I'm on the hunt for a vanity and dresser - something like these to redo for this room... I'll find them eventually and for a great price. You know how cheap I am... <wink>

I swiped these pics (of the vanity & dresser) from an 'online' add, but they want $500 for the set and I just can't commit. I think I can find some ~ way cheaper~ in time, if I just keep a look out~!

Better pics will come soon ~ !
I'm excited for this redo...

And, something is wrong with the formatting on this page and I can't seem to get the large, bold, formatting to go to normal...
So Sorry~
