We had a Birthday party dinner for my youngest on Saturday and well, I just never got all the 'Little Grands' toys picked up and put away because we were so busy trying to finish the veggie garden Sunday...
You'll notice through all the pics that we're still in sort of a state of 'dishevel' around here.
It's evident form all the toys and all of the garden implements and hoses strewn about. I'm terrible about watering something and just dropping the hose for next time.
I need to seek recovery options for that affliction...

This is '1 year old' landscaping. Aside from the trees and lilacs. I think they have been here since time began...
The yard is beautiful this year and all of the pain and labor were certainly worth it last year~
The sun has changed in the sky and I'm waiting for the South side to wake up - pop up and fill in...
It will catch up, I'm sure of it~!
I had tomatoes planted in this South planter by the hot tub last year.
This year, it's been replanted with 'Clematis' (multiple variations), Day Lilly's and other perennials and they should start to give a show by late summer.
The 'Bee Tree' garden is filling in beautiful.
I love to sit out here and watch all the bees travel back and forth over the fence into the hay field...
(for those that are unaware, that big black locust tree has a huge bee colony living in it...)

And the back (West) wall, the trumpet vine starts I got last fall are just peeking out of the ground and should take over this wall with the Virginia Creepers and Hollyhocks by fall...

It is beautiful! It always takes time for plants to settle in. When they are first planted, they don't really look like they belong. What a difference a year has made! Everything looks settled in. The yard/park looks like it is well loved and lived in, and that is the purpose, after all, of having it. Loved seeing the pics, waiting on your next episode/installment.
