Linen Napkin Quilt ~ Bedroom Set...

It's crazy what evening boredom can do...

Yes, I was bored a couple weeks ago, so I dug through my material stash. I drug out some linen, monogrammed table napkins, a few yards of really thick flannel I got on clearance for $2.59... Two polyester banquet tablecloths, a linen, monogrammed, table runner and a set of vintage lace curtains received from Wisconsin...

And...

A pair of sharp scissors~!

Yes, this girl...
Just for the pure excitement of getting away with it~!

(=

Oh...

My mind does wander...

Especially when the sun is setting...

And, there are 'vintage linens' to whack up~
redo and re-sew...

Click on "Read More" to finish the adventure...

Like this linen table runner that was folded in half, stuffed and crocheted around the edge for a really, upscale look that cost me $2.00.

This blonde mind  comes up with some crazy ideas~

Like sewing 2 vintage, linen, table napkins together. Stuffing them with pillow stuffing and crocheting around the edge for very expensive looking, small throw pillow that cost $0.50...

Then, this bored blonde made a bedroom set
out of eight, linen, table napkins...

Some thick, clearance flannel...

Pieced together strategically on the kitchen floor...

Some old vintage lace curtains...
~that arrived from my best friend in Wisconsin~

 And, two polyester
banquet tablecloths from my Grandchildren's baby showers
for the ruffle and backing...

A couple hours at the sewing machine...

Add some vintage and antique cut work and needle lace throws
to the bottom of the bed...

(Throws = tablecloths ~ shhhh ~ don't tell the natives...)

(How do I move all this furniture to paint these ugly walls soon?)

And well...

You end up with something beautiful ~

Even though it doesn't match the rug real well...

(=

I'm going to let you in on a secret, besides the ugly color of my bedroom walls that will be a beautiful ivory color soon...

Please don't tell anybody...

But I have a fan light stuck up above my canopy on my beautiful bed.

It wasn't suppose to happen this way, but it did...
And, now I don't know what to do about it?

~It's embarrassing~
*blushing*

The good news is that the bedroom re-color is starting soon...

I think this room has needed a good paint job for about 35 years~~
Hey, I've only been here 2 years and let's face it,
I've had a lot of work to do just to make this place livable for a girl...

So, hopefully soon, I will get a solution for the 'fan light' problem'...

Actually, that's a fake ceiling obviously. It's been dropped down about 4' trying to preserve some warmth in this room. This room is FREEZING in the winter because of the rock walls -
It really makes a person contemplate taking the time to move the ceiling back up just 2 more feet, to give the canopy top a little breathing room and then, maybe put a support up there, to hang a chandelier on a chain in a really pretty corner I'm working on in here, where the "Oohh La, La Chair' now resides?
But, the tv is in the way still, so I refuse to show you today...
(=

It will be beautiful when it's finished...

To match the new 'Shabby' pics I acquired a couple weeks ago.

So, stay tuned~~~

It will be a testament to my 'will power' to get this done.

And, my strength moving all of this HUGE furniture...

    1. Melinda,
You do realize if you stay around me too long, I could possibly turn you into a 'textile hoarder' like I am, right? ~ lol
(You are one of the few people that I have ever confessed the truth to... That I am a 'textile / material / blanket / quilt / napkin / curtain / doily / lace etc. etc. etc. ~~ hoarder. )
      Hoarder sounds so corrupt.
A "textile collector" sounds more appropriate, don't it?
And, most of my friends support me in it ~
      ~I am sick~
But, I sure have a lot of fun~!
I really should have been born with a warning label...lol
