Vintage, Metal, Picnic Basket Planter...

I found this vintage picnic basket in one of the out buildings and it was just too "Green" for the look I was going for...

I took it over to the house and had it sitting for about a week before I decided what to do with it. As soon as I finished the 'Redo on the vintage shell back chairs'... I knew I wanted to paint it the same 'antique white' and turn it into a planter to set by the chairs...

I drilled some small holes in the bottom and filled it with about 2" of gravel for drainage and then planted it with a variety of clearance container plants from Ace Hardware's nursery...

It currently resides siting on an old, up-turned wash tub and next to the shell back chairs, a crusty watering can and an old, crusty, push mower...

It may spend the whole season sitting just like this because it looks so cute from the kitchen window...

~But, things could change ~

Nearly anything can make a cute & unique outdoor planter with a little imagination~!

Still semi-new to this attempt at blogging, so I apologize for my delayed response. G+ is still new to me and navigating it, or figuring out how it works needs some more attention from me soon...
