Slow ~ Grandparents at play~!

What an amazing age ~ 2 years old...
I have a Grandson, "Journey" who was born 4 months before my Grandaughter, "Saige" - they're cousins, but we refer to them as the "Turbo Twins..."

This year is a really fun year for the 'Turbo Twins' because they are mobile (on their own feet) and the world is a wonderland. There is also an addition to the 'turbo twins' little circle ~ Saige's new little sister Swayzee. Our newborn Grandaughter, "Swayzee" just watches the two year olds playing, very calmly, as if she's soaking it all in and making notes for when she is 2...

These 'turbo twin' grandbabies of ours have been close to each other since they were both born... Our girls live close to each other and close to us, which is a blessing~!

They have spent alot of time together through their 2 years of growing...

The great discovery of mobility started to happen last fall - about the 'bow hunt' time. The 'turbo twins' went camping with their momma's and discovered a bit of 'outdoor' freedom...

It has progressed through this Spring with a great big discovery of the outdoor world. Both grandkids love to be outside. Through the weeks as we've been finishing our yard, they have been discovering it at every stage. My little 'boohoo' Saige made the great discovery of the 'puddle rock' by the hot tub last week when she came to visit grandma...

I had been watering the flowers before the girls (Saige & Swayzee) came to spend the afternoon with me and some water had puddled on the big rock step. Saige was on it. Her shoes came off, a few rocks went in the water and she was content here for a couple hours. Every time the puddle would start to dry up, she would ask me for more "WaWa..."

Ms. Swayzee just lays around enjoying the sunshine...

Yesterday, we had a Birthday party here for my youngest daughter and Saige got the opportunity to introduce her favorite cousin Journey (the other tubo twin) to her puddle rock...

The discovery of water started last weekend when the girls took the little ones to the lake...

It has progressed to Grandma purchasing a cute little sink toy at the thriftstore for $4. This cute sink toy has been my greatest thrift store purchase - the 'turbo twins' love it!

From the play sink, we moved around the yard to the back grass and I turned the sprinkler on for the little cuties. What fun~!

Once the clothes were soaked, they took the clothes off and I went and got their little sink toy and buckets, so they could continue playing in the water...

Our newest addition, "Miss Swayzee Mae" just lays around watching, sleeping and basking in the sunshine. She's just taking it all in, so she knows what she's suppose to do when it's her turn to discover the great outdoors & water...

It has been alot of work getting this yard fixed up for these grandchildren of ours, but it has been so, so, worth it. Every new thing we implement has been done with the grandkids in mind and how much they will enjoy it... It has been a great Spring. With the heat wave we are in the midst of though, here comes Summer~!

Grandchildren are God's way of compensating us for growing old~!
