It's amazing what can be accomplished in 3 days...

This is what the South side of this old place looked like when I moved in last fall...

This is from the front yard, looking toward the back, down the South side of the house.

We have spent the Memorial weekend laying the sod in the back yard and giving this South side yard a makeover...

We got the patio in a couple weeks ago?

This weekend, we started the fun~!

We got the sod completely finished and the perennials in and mulched...

We got the hot tub moved onto the patio, as per the previous post. When you make the corner at the patio and around the hot tub, he created me the most awesome garden path/park path. I don't know what to call it. It looks like my own park~!

Before the path begins, on the right is the faucet. I added some old, rusty wagon wheels around the faucet for visual interest...

I planted a "Virginia Creeper," to twine up the big one...

I got my big rock step by the hot tub finished and angled the way I wanted it...
Ya, one of my squash trellises is sitting there, out of place - lol...

Then, the path begins...

He used railroad ties for the small steps up in elevation...

He used some of my rock lintels to make me a rock bench at the top of the path...

He even made a 'tiny' bench for the grankids...
(Bottom right of the pic...)

Notice, there on the left... He brought in this HUGE, old, cottonwood tree stump and layed it on its side.
It has all these holes in it to plant things in, so I planted it with boston ivy...

I needed something "Chunky" at the top of the path, to make the direction change to the front yard and this old stump turned out really neat for that spot...

You can see the direction change in the path, in this pic...
The old tree stump is in the shadow - darn...
But, see how it created a barrier at the end of the path, so you have to go left?

This is what it looks like sitting on the rock bench at the top of the path, looking toward the back yard.

Once you make the turn at the rock bench, to the front yard, this is what you see.
There will be grass on the right...
(See the tiny bench on the bottom left)

Looking at the path  and front patio from the driveway...
The front yard grass will be on the left soon.

The path also branches off and  comes onto the front patio, by the front door...
Doesn't it look like a fairy tale yard?
I LOVE IT~!!!

Two men and a wimpy woman done all of this in 3 days, including laying all of the sod.
But, we wasn't alone...
A pair of "Great Horned Owls" arrived in one of the big trees early this morning.
They watched us all day long...

Divine intervention???

If we moved spots in the yard, they would turn around on thier branches...

They flew away right as I took this pic at dusk...

Would you believe this isn't even half of the yard? We still have the North side to landscape and the whole front of the property. That will come in the future. Right now, we both need some rest...

When the day has ended,

dare to feel as you've done your best~!
